Vice President of Leadership Development
Teresa Brown is State Policy Network’s Vice President of Leadership Development. Teresa leads SPN’s Leadership Development Initiative (LDI) team, which provides state-based institutions with the practical guidance and support required to execute their missions, including knowledge and skill-building around leadership, strategic planning, board education, development, communications, and operations. LDI also assists leaders interested in establishing new state-based organizations.
Teresa previously served as a senior grant officer with a free-market foundation. She began her career in the free-market movement as the assistant to the late Leonard P. Liggio at the Atlas Economic Research Foundation and then served as Atlas’s director of public affairs and publications. Early in her career, Teresa worked as a journalist and newspaper editor before leaving the real world for academia, working as an adjunct professor of European History. Teresa holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and international affairs from Florida State University and did doctoral work in European history.
