Paul Bernert is a research analyst for the Center for the Study of Economic Liberty at Arizona State University. He also serves as the chief methodologist and project manager of the Doing Business North America (DBNA) report produced by the Center for the Study of Economic Liberty.

His research focuses on topics related to economic growth in developing economies, market-competition between local economies, and principles of political economy. He specializes in data analytics, computational economics and computer-based economic modeling. He holds a degree in Economics (B.S.) from Arizona State University.
