Executive Director
Killjan (pronounced Killian) Anderson is the Executive Director of the USA Basketball Foundation, which was created in 2019.

As executive director, Anderson is responsible for all aspects of the USA Basketball Foundation, including developing a holistic strategic plan, generating revenue and evaluating grant opportunities. 

He was hired at the USA Basketball Foundation after serving as the executive director of the Pat Tillman Foundation since 2014. 

Prior to that, he served as the senior enlisted advisor at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from 2012 to 2014. During his 21-years on active duty, his military career spanned stateside assignments and overseas tours in Korea, Japan and England. He deployed in support of Operation Southern Watch and Iraqi Freedom.

Anderson graduated in a bachelor’s degree in Management and Government from the University of Maryland-University College and with an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

He is a Center for Creative Leadership alumni, has presented as the SXSW Conference and currently serves in an advisory board capacity for Arizona State University’s Veteran Sports Law and Business Program, the NFL Player Association’s Professional Athletes Foundation and the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
