Roundtable: Energy Trends in the States: How Emerging Policies Are Manipulating State Energy Markets

Across the country, state energy markets are being distorted by several types of policies. These include issues state think tanks have long been dealing with, such as renewable portfolio standards and carbon taxes. But new issues are surfacing and spreading as more states attempt to ramp up renewables mandates, expand cap-and-trade programs, and join efforts such as the emerging Transportation and Climate Initiative. This session will address these trends, the impacts that such policies would have on consumers, and how state groups can proactively address energy issues to promote a free-market approach.
